The Aliens

When Evan meets professional slackers KJ and Jasper outside a coffee shop in Vermont, he is irresistibly drawn into their world of magic mushrooms, philosophical musings, and great-bands-that-never-were.

The Aliens by Annie Baker was my graduating showcase piece on the MA in Theatre Directing course at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. It opened at the Alma Tavern Theatre in Bristol on the 17th May 2011 and showed for six performances. In July 2011 it transferred to Trafalgar Studios for three performances as part of the Directors' Cuts Season.

Reviews

As impressively gentle a piece of theatre as playgoers could wish for. Men may weep.

★★★★★ Remote Goat

Touching and hilarious. Three fine performances

Bristol Evening Post

Sensitively directed, with a laidback, gently bonhomous tone that effortlessly fanned out into a kaleidoscope of male emotions, and containing three truly exceptional performances
